Now Hiring – Summer Camp Counselors
Summer Camp Guggenheim is an opportunity for young people to Grow in Faith, Connect with Friends, and Explore the Outdoors in a safe and nurturing environment. We are currently looking for counselors to live and work at Summer Camp Guggenheim during the 2023 summer season (June 22nd - August 11th).
Counselors are responsible for supervising and mentoring campers while facilitating a safe environment in which campers can make friends, have fun, grow in faith and explore the outdoors. Counselors motivate campers and are expected to support and participate in all camp activities. Counselors have a strong relationship with our Lord and are comfortable discussing and sharing their faith. All counselors are assigned to a specific program depending upon their interests and abilities. Counselors also take part in many work projects that keep our program running and get us ready for the next session. This is a seasonal paid position with room and board included.

- They are comfortable with communal living.
- They feel a strong call to God and are confident in discussing their Catholic faith life.
- They are responsible, cool under pressure, and understand that safety is first last and always.
- They are aware of camper's physical needs and will go above and beyond to make sure campers are comfortable during their stay at camp
- They keep camp clean and will do whatever it takes to prepare it for the next session.
Required:
A Guggenheim counselor candidate must be a High School graduate, 18 years or older, have a minimum of one year of college or workforce experience. Participated in a counselor training program (E.G., Teen Vision) or worked as a Youth Counselor or in a Youth Leadership program. A counselor candidate should be a practicing Catholic who is willing to share their Faith with youth ages 11 to 18 yrs. old. Also, a counselor candidate will be able to serve for 7 weeks starting June 20th to August 11th. Prior to employment, a counselor must be able to pass a level II background check. (Diocese will provide this service once selected for employment)

- Diocesan Youth Ministry track training
- CPR and First Aid training and certification
- Water Safety training
- The following training areas are in addition to the above and depend on the primary position you are hired for:
- Water Front Director
- Camp Director and Assistant Director Administration
- Life Guard training
- Rappelling training
- Food preparation and Kitchen Management
