Crater Lake Zipline — one of Oregon’s premier outdoor adventure attractions — is hiring Seasonal Canopy Zipline Tour Guides.

Position Summary

Zipline Tour Guides are responsible for leading educational, and exhilarating canopy tours while mitigating risk. Guides manage guest experience from check-in through course completion, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols while maintaining an engaging and welcoming atmosphere.

Guides mitigate risk, conduct inspections, perform rescues when necessary, transport guests to ground school, and create an interpretive narrative highlighting local history, wildlife, ecology, and geology.

Guides work in pairs and operate within a supportive, highly communicative team environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead canopy zipline tours with professionalism and enthusiasm

• Greet and engage guests in a friendly, confident manner

• Conduct safety orientations and ground school instruction

• Properly outfit guests in harnesses, helmets, and safety equipment

• Perform daily inspections of course elements and gear

• Monitor and manage tour group safety at all times

• Perform course rescues as trained

• Safely transport guests via UTV to the ground school location

• Maintain tour timing and operational flow

• Use radios to maintain constant team communication

• Capture guest photos at designated locations

• Promote guest engagement, reviews, and retail opportunities

• Assist with opening/closing procedures and course maintenance

• Maintain site cleanliness and professional presentation

• Attend required meetings, training sessions, and monthly skill assessments

• Demonstrate regular, reliable attendance

• Uphold all company policies, procedures, and ASTM-compliant safety standards

• Work cooperatively and professionally within a team structure

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age by June 30 of the season applying for

• Valid driver’s license

• Current Adult & Child First Aid and CPR Certification (required prior to first day of work)

• Complete and pass Crater Lake Zipline Guide School (ASTM-compliant; fees apply)

• Ability to pass a background check

• Ability to work long hours, weekends, and variable shifts

• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-adrenaline or emergent situations

• Strong attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment

No prior zipline experience required — we train the right candidates.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• Experience in guiding, outdoor recreation, athletics, education, or high ropes courses

• Background in tourism or recreation studies

• Multilingual abilities

This is a physically active outdoor role requiring stamina, strength, and situational awareness.

Work Environment

Guides regularly work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights. The position involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
